organized to assist entrepreneurs get
their businesses started by providing facilities, training, and
connections with the broader enterprise community. Investigate the history, people and services
of any incubator before signing up. Whenever possible, interview present and former
incubator participants before deciding.
Advanced Technology
Development Center
Atlanta, Georgia. The first regional incubator. Affiliated with Georgia Tech in Midtown
Atlanta, the ATDC has been incubating technology-based companies for
nearly 20
years. It boasts facilities at Georgia Tech, in the GCATT facility on 14th Street and in Warner
Robins.
Intelligence
Systems Incubator
Norcross, Georgia. The ISI the
oldest privately owned incubator in Georgia. Operated by
Intelligent Systems Corp. in Norcross, Georgia. Some but not all
companies receive seed capital from Intelligent Systems.
Fulton County Business Incubator
Atlanta, Georgia. FCBI is an initiative, of the
Economic Development Corporation of Fulton County. FCBI
provides an integrated set of services to support growing businesses
during their development stage.
Georgia Tech VentureLab
Atlanta, Georgia. An initiative that assists Georgia Tech faculty
members move from laboratory innovation to commercial market.
Innovation Factory
Duluth, Georgia. Started in 1999, the Innovation
Factory acquires or licenses technology from laboratories and
inventors around which it builds life science ventures. The firm
provides business services and support for medical life science
start-ups.
