High Tech . . .
is a glamorous phrase used to describe any endeavor
that involves the application of sophisticated technology. Many people
think of venture capitalists as people who fund high tech companies.
The fact is, however, that most venture investors are more interested
in return on investment than in the glamour of sophisticated
technology. Many do invest in high tech companies, but only when those
companies are also emerging growth companies that promise rapid growth
and a healthy return to the investor. See: Emerging Growth
Companies.
