• Active public markets, particularly healthy initial public offering markets, make fund raising easier. Active markets raise investor confidence. Healthy IPO markets generate exit war stories for investors that demonstrate just how profitable private company investing can be. This attracts more money to private company investing and raises private company valuations.
• Investors who are familiar with your company’s market are more likely to invest than those who are not. In the same way, investors who maintain an active presence in your geographical area or who invest in companies at your stage of development are more likely to invest. The less you have to educate an investor to get him comfortable with your situation the easier fund raising will be.
